This is our airplane. See more pictures and stories on Our Maule page.
We attended the AOPA Expo on Palm Springs where we finally met Jeremy Ainsworth, the fellow who sold us our Maule airplane. The whole deal was handled over the phone. He spends a lot of time in Alaska where he sells most of his planes. Jeremy's Web site is at http://www.mauleak.com but he doesn't answer e-mail.
At the Expo Nancy bought a new headset to use while flying. These headsets have active noise reduction so we can hear the tower controllers over the roar of the engine. That's our friend Paul helping pick out the right model. He takes much better pictures than I do, which can be seen at http://www.mustbeart.com.
Here is Roy getting signed off for his Instrument Rating by Kevin at American Flyers.
For my 52nd birthday Nancy got me a few hours in a twin engine airplane. We flew up to Santa Barbara for lunch. As long as both engines are running it handles pretty much like our Maule. The twin does have more knobs and switches and dials.
