The company I used to work for has an engineering facility in Hangzhou, China that I visited for a week. I was fortunate enough to spend Saturday there and had a chance to do a little sightseeing that I tried to capture on these pages.
Besides the walk up the hill below with my boss, I was lucky enough to have an engineer from work act as a guide and show me around the Lingyin Temple, Peak Flying From Afar, and the West Lake.

Right across the street from our modern high-rise hotel is a park with a nice hill to climb. We started dark and early before the sun got too hot.
We have to prove Roy was there in front of a pavilion full of folks listening to Chinese opera music played on strange instruments. And this is 6:30 AM on a Saturday!
It's amazing how much green space the Chinese maintain in their cities. At the top of the hill people were joining in exercises complete with lots of hooting and hollering. After the climb up the steep hill plus exercising with the crowd I don't blame this gentleman for taking a break.
We saw this interesting insect crawling across the sidewalk. I'm surprised it made it without getting squished with all the foot traffic.
This gentleman was practicing calligraphy on the sidewalk with water. Unfortunately it's not a very durable medium.
