Pig Face Restaurant

One day at lunch time our Chinese friends took us to a famous restaurant. We didn't have a clue what we were in for. When we entered the staff started yelling all sorts of things at us and smiling big time. We went up to the third floor for first class treatment.

Ordering off the menu is a complicated and time consuming affair. Yilan makes sure we get the good stuff.

This pig face girl seemed to take her role the most seriously.

Wu Xiaoping and our driver pick around the edges not going near the pig face dish in the middle. The food just keeps coming.

Everyone gets a cup of tea to wash down our huge meal.

This is what we came here for. The big bowl holds the pig face meat, with buns to hold it and a sticky sauce to give it flavor.

The waitress makes up a pig face sandwich for Mario. He stalls afraid to eat it.

Here comes one for Roy and he dives right in and eats the pig face. Don't they know Americans eat pig butt (bacon) for breakfast? Pig face is no big deal! The only problem I had was the sticky sauce that glued the napkin to my fingers and I couldn't get it off until I went to the restroom.

Our Chinese hosts pigged out on  noodles, served in a large bowl with many small bowls of veggies dumped on at the last minute. They didn't touch the pig face meat.

The waiters get the regulation haircut out on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. I guess it's part of the act.

Zai Jian (Good Bye)!

They bid us zia jian, meaning see you later! We just might have to go back.
