Here is the Tuk Tuk driver and then there is Roy. My head doesn't fit under the top of this thing. Had to ride with my neck bent the whole time.
This is what it looks like from the passenger seat of a Tuk Tuk. I'm used to riding a motorcycle, but this was a thrill ride.
The ride was bumpy so the pictures of the street vendors are blurry.
The big Buddha is indeed impressive. There are stairs up the back so I assume you can look out through his eyes over a hundred feet above the ground.
There is a shrine with a smaller Buddha at the bottom. Those big gold things are the feet of the Standing Buddha.
I didn't figure out until I got here that the little birds the vendor was trying to sell me were to be let go in front of the Standing Buddha to bring good luck. I think these birds had good luck because they got away before the cat showed up.
Next to the major Buddha is this micro shrine. There are many instances of small very old shrines next to newer huge ones.
The inside of one of these shrines is filled with artwork and flowers and incense burning. If one incense stick is good, a whole handful must better.
The details of the inside of the shrine are amazing.
